How do I link related reports?

Have you noticed a trend in reports about a specific individual, location, issue, etc?

You can easily label related reports with common characteristics by creating a Link ID. A Link ID could be an individual’s name, a number, a keyword, or anything else that would help you best understand that a set of reports are related!

Example

John Smith has been named as an individual to be investigated in multiple reports. To easily track reports where he is named, the Link ID on these reports has been updated to his name:

The Link ID makes it easy to filter related reports.

Now that you’ve seen the Link ID in action, let’s walk through how to create a Link ID on a report!

 Instructions

1. On the Incident Reports tab, select the Edit icon of the report that you’d like to create a Link ID for

2. Scroll down to the Link ID field and enter the text you’d like to use as the Link ID. The tooltip can be hovered over for additional context.

3. After entering the Link ID, select Save at the bottom of the page.

4. Repeat this process for any other related reports.
